O blog de Juan Alderete

Chama-se Take A Lap e diz que é um blog pessoal deste curioso sujeito. Mas encontrei isto ainda por causa dos Grammys e do relato na primeira pessoa do baixista dos The Mars Volta. Ora leiam:

"So we go to the Grammys because there is no way in my mind, that we would ever get asked back. It’s our once in a lifetime chance and we wanted to hang out with each other since we have been off tour for minute and it was a good reason to see each other since we all live in different parts of the world. During the pre-telecast show where they hand out 100 awards, we end up standing out in the lobby of the award hall until they get to around award 90 or 91 (ours was 96). The Eagles win another grammy, Tia Carrere from Wayne’s World wins. We are laughing about how out of touch the Grammys seem, then “…and the Grammy goes to The Mars Volta for Wax Simulacra.” We start laughing, screaming and yelling “ah hell no, this shit is legit!” Seriously, how did this happen and who voted for us? I was joking that it must mean that out of the people who voted in this category, 80-90% of them must have dropped acid in their lives.

Right before our category was announced, I was getting mad because I was thinking about the 2 1/2 hour line I waited in to get our tickets to this thing, all the hustle it took to get everyone to LA, and how much money we all spent, and the category they stuck us in…the list goes on. But now, it all seems worth it. Not because I feel validated but because it feels like Vegas or the Superbowl and our number just came up. Can’t deny that feeling of winning."
